Usage of Special Feeder for Small Birds

This study presents the possibility of using agricultural by-products to solve problem high forage prices. Rice mill pre-cleaning residues are considered solid waste in Egypt, as many tonnes produced every day. These overgrown heaps always cause an environmental problem. Most millers don't know how dispose it. A simple device for purification it use a supplementary feeder small birds has been manufactured. It comprises air supply, hopper, case, and two drawers (one receiving eaten parts other impurities). The mixture rice millers' is agitated by stream floats fine particles upwardly far drawer while escapes through final holes. Performance evaluation was conducted on manufactured with various airspeeds (1.8, 2.6, 3.2 4.3 m s-1), baffle angles (30, 40, 50°) feed rates (3.6, 5.7, 8.2, 9.3 kg min-1). maximum value purifying efficiency (87.67%) achieved at airspeed s-1, angle 30°, rate 3.6 min-1. minimum mean losses (0.4%) 1.8 50°, There significant increase decrease when device, so recommended residues.
